                             Newland

Also known as Spring Valley, a village located in the northeastern part
of Lincoln County, near the Utah boundary line, 22 1/2 miles northeast 
of Pioche, the county seat and nearest banking and shipping point. The
principal industry in this section is the raising of live stock. Has
tri-weekly stage with Stateline, Utah, fare $2.50, and Pioche, fare $4.00.
