Walsh met with a very serious accident at the Ida May Mine, and certain conditions prevented instant death. He had fired a round of holes with the exception of one and then returned to light an upper; just as he advanced near the work, one of the holes in the bottom of the drift, which had yet failed to explode, went off. Dr. Duckworth was summoned and at 9 o'clock last evening Mr. WAlsh was in the Duckworth hospital. His injuries are a very bad compound fracture of the right leg, the right hand lacerated, also the right side of the face and numerous flesh wounds in the right side. His condition is not considered dangerous, but will take some time for complete recovery. Additional Comments: William Walsh ultimately passed away from these injuries as noted in article [see later article on Sep 5, 1908] File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nv/lincoln/newspapers/blastinj30gnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nvfiles/ File size: 1.4 Kb
