R. Shaw of Dayton. He is supposed to have hanged himself last Saturday evening, as he was in the office of Mr. Shaw, in the front of the barn, talking until about 8 o’clock, when he left, and was not seen again till his body was discovered on Sunday morning. He had made a noose in a rope used in hoisting hay into the barn. The rope was fastened to a rafter, and he is supposed to have launched himself off a pile of bales of hay. As his neck was not broken, he died of strangulation. He seemed in his usual good spirits on Saturday evening when talking to Mr. Shaw. No one knows of any reason why he should have thus ended his life. He had worked for several years in the Woodworth tailings mill, where he was well liked. A verdict of suicide was rendered by the Coroner’s jury.
