                              Gold Center


A postoffice and thriving mining camp located in the southern part of Nye 
County, at the junction of the Bullfrog & Goldfield and Las Vegas & Tonopah 
Railroads, 99 miles southeast of Tonopah, the county seat, and 75 miles from 
Goldfield. Has a bank, general store, hotel and enterprising weekly newspaper, 
the "Gold Center News". Exp Pac, W U Tel. Telephone connection with Rhyolite,
7 miles southeast. A number of successful mines are operating in this district.
