The obituaries included in this book were clipped from the page€s of the 1970's Nevada
West & the Pahrump ValleyTimes as well as the Pahrump Valley Star and the Pahrump
Valley Tirnes. The names in this book were compared with the index of the Chief Tecopa
Cemetery in Pahrump, When information matched, the cemetery information was
indicated in the right column of the index.

Occasionally, an obituary will not state the date of death, but might read, "died recently."
The local cemetery records as well as the Social Security Death Index were checked for a
date of death. When not available, the date of death in the index will indicate 'xx" for the
unknown data.

Some of the items included in this book do not strictly conform to the dictionary
definition of an obituary. Some of these items were donated; others were included to
correlate with an obituary listing prepared by the Pahrump Community Public Library.
