Henrietta Maria Charlotte Bishop, 94, passed away Jan. 28, 2011, at her 
daughter’s home in Pahrump.
She was born Dec. 22, 1916, in Fremont, Wis., the daughter of Alfred Edward 
and Mathilde Amelia Karoline Krueger Peters. 
Her first marriage was to Harold Henry Ziehl Feb. 19, 1937, in Grand Island, 
Neb.  He preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1967. 
She married James Albert Middleton March 10, 1951, in Rock Island, Ill. 
Her third marriage was to Oscar Earl Bishop Dec. 6, 1958, in Rock Island.  He 
preceded her in death May 16, 1978.
 She worked as a waitress for various places, a nurses’ aide at nursing homes, 
as a clerk at Grants Department Store until they closed the store, as a sorter 
at McKee Button Factory, and for Thatcher Plastics.  She retired at the age of 
67.
 She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Zion Lutheran Church Women’s 
Group.
 Those left to honor her memory include daughter, Jean Markwell and husband, 
Raymond, of Pahrump;  son, Ronald Ziehl and wife, Kerry, of Muscatine, Wis.; 
step-daughters, Helen Snider and husband, Glendell, of Stockbridge, Ga., and 
Glenda Hartsock of Muscatine; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 
brother, Clarence Peters and wife, Beatrice, of Waupaca, Wis.
 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; son, James Middleton; 
step-daughter, Norma Thornton; and brothers, Milfred and Albert Peters.
