Pashby and Chas. Oernst started on foot to Peavine. Oernst complained, after traveling a few miles, of a pain in his right side. The weather was very cold at the time, but both men went ahead as fast as they could, hoping to reach the Junction House by dark. Oernst failed rapidly, and when within a few hundred yards of the house as unable to proceed further. Pashby went on to the Junction House and got Mr. Polland to go with him after Oernst, bu the services of both men were required to get him to the house, when in about ten minutes thereafter he died. To-day undertaker Saunders went up after his body. Oernst was a steady, sober man, about 35 years old, and leaves a wife and several children now residing at Poeville. He had been an employee on the Con. Poe mine and was n humble circumstances in life.
