Jim was born Feb. 26, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA to Lillian Steele Peart and Gilbert Peart, both preceded him in death. He was of the Christian faith and like to attend the Men's bible study group at his local church. Jim and Nellie moved to Pahrump seven years ago to be closer to their families after he retired from his life-long job as the Southwest Nonfood Supervisor for both Lucky's and Albertson's supermarket chains in CA. He was a very sociable and community minded, attending town and county meetings, and he was active in Concenred Citizens for a Safe Community. He enjoyed reading the Bible, helping at the church, watching Western movies, playing an occasional game of Keno, bingo and Mexican Train. He enjoyed traveling and visiting with family and friends. He loved fishing, camping, and taking his family to amusement parks. He was the best husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and brother-in-law in the world. He was a true, living example of what God intended man to be. He was a wonderful man to all who knew him, and he will always be remembered and loved very much. Thank God for giving all of us the honor of having him with us for so many years. To our beloved one and friend we say "We love you and will always greatly miss your friendly smile, keen wit and the gentle warmth you so hindly radiated with your very presence. Good-bye dear one until we meet again." He leaves behind wife of 40 years Nellie Peart; five children James (Angie) Peart Jr. Cindy Voeghtly, Shannon (David) Valenzuela, Dallas (William) Dedrich and Jason (Inna) Peart; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister Grace (Ronald White and Betty (John) Williams; brothers Edward, Gilbert (Joyce), Charles (Pam) and Robert(Mary) Peart; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 30, in New Hope Fellowship where Jim attended.
