V. L. RICKETTS OF GOLDFIELD DIES SUDDENLY AT SAN JOSE



    Victor L. RICKETTS, publisher of the Goldfield Daily Tribune, and 

prominent Republican of Nevada, died at San Jose, California last Tuesday, 

following a sudden, severe attack of stomach trouble.  Mr. RICKETTS recently 

passed through this city on his way to California for a vacation.  He 

appeared to be enjoying his usual good health, and news of his death 

accordingly came as a great and painful surprise to his many friends in this 

city.

    The deceased, prior to coming to Goldfield, held a position in the 

pension department in Washington, D. C., and was for many years Washington 

correspondent for several eastern newspapers.  After spending some time with 

the Goldfield Tribune, Mr. RICKETTS came to Reno and was on the Gazette 

editorial staff two years, at the end of which period he returned to 

Goldfield and became president and manager of the Tribune Printing 

Company. - Carson News.
