News of his death came to his many friends and acquaintances as a great surprise, for from all appearances Mr. McCullough was in the best of health but a few hours preceding his death. He is survived by a son, F.J. McCullough of Hobart Springs. The unfortunate man was well known not only locally but throughout the entire state. In addition to active participation in mining affairs he was at one time superintendent of the Carson mint and also superintendent of the Morgan mills. He was a member of the local corps of the Grand Army of the Republic and of the local Masonic lodge under the auspices of which organizations his interment will take place.
