Torreyson, one of the pioneer women of Nevada, passed away at her home in this city Wednesday evening. Death came suddenly and unexpectedly, notwithstanding she had been in poor health for some time. She was 87 years of age. Mrs. Torreyson was the widow of W.D. Torreyson, who died in Carson in 1894. She is survived by four daughters, Misses Belle, Jennie and Ada, of Carson, and Mrs. Mary Whistler of Los Angeles. Her only son, James D. Torreyson, one time attorney general of the state, died in Carson City in 1904. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock and was one of the most largely attended funerals ever held here.
