Trainer was born Feb. 12, 1925. A native of Chamberlin, S.D., he lived in Lovelock 23 years. He worked for the Pershing County Water Conservation District for 11 years until he retired as a water master. Trainer refurbished International Harvester tractors and won first-place trophies for showing the tractors in parades. He was also an avid gardener who liked to grow tulips, gladiolas,peonies and he had a great strawberry patch. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jean Elizabeth Trainer. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Eugene Provencher, Linda and Mike Hernandez, Marlys McMullin of Fairfield, Calif., and Melissa Hoefert of Lovelock; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Susan Trainer and Ronald Trainer of Rodeo, Calif., and Terry Trainer of Folsom, Calif.; sister, Myrtle Etbauer of Gann Valley, S.D.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral was held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery, Fairfield, Calif., with family members officiating.
