Died of Apoplexy
Yesterday morning’s Enterprise says: Charles J. Adams, an engineer and an old
resident of the Comstock, died quite suddenly last evening of apoplexy, though
he had been ailing for several days.  He recently returned to this city from
Benton, Inyo county, California.  He was an old pioneer, arriving at San
Francisco, March 25, 1849, via Cape Horn.  Deceased was a member of the Pacific
Coast Pioneers, and also of the Mechanics’ Union of this city.  Deceased was a
native of England and about 37 years of age.
