Black This morning’s Virginia Enterprise says: John L. Black died in his quarters in the Court-house, B street, yesterday morning about 2 o’clock, of congestion of the bowels. He contracted a violent cold last week which settled in his bowels. He was so ill last Sunday that a physician was called in. His oldest son, Theodore P. Black, was with him when he died. He was conscious to the last moment. A few minutes before he breathed his last he said he felt easier and wanted his son to go home and take some rest. He passed away as though dropping asleep. He leaves a wife and four sons. All the family except Theodore are in Oakland, Cal. Deceased left a will, in which he bequeathed his property to his family.
