Reno Evening Gazette July 21, 1888
A Rare Case.—Mrs. Datra, formerly Miss Mary King died suddenly Thursday
afternoon at the residence of her father on North C. street, opposite B.
Dellepiano’s store, Virginia City.  She was apparently in her usual health up to
a few moments before her death, which is supposed to have resulted from heart
disease, or rather from a broken heart.  Deceased was married less than a year
ago to Mr. Dutra, and lived and apparently happily with him until a short time
ago when for some reason they separated, her husband leaving for California and
his wife taking up her abode with her parents.  Recently she heard that her
faithless husband had married again and her grief was inconsolable.  About three
weeks ago Mrs. Dutra gave birth to a child, since which time she has been ill of
chills and fever.  She was not so ill as to be confined to her bed, and died
while seated in a chair.  Deceased was only 18 years of age.
