A drowning accident occurred last Tuesday at Clinton Station, on the Truckee River. Richard Messenger, a well-known work hand, long resident as a lumberman on the Truckee river, while driving up logs to the sawmill, slipped and fell from the log on which he had his precarious foothold, and was precipitated with force against an adjoining floating log. He evidently must have struck his head against the floater, for he instantly sank, and before help be procured was beyond reach. He leaves a wife and three children. His body at latest acocunts had not been recovered. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nvfiles/ File size: 1.1 Kb
