A. Abbey, one of the oldest residents of Sparks and prior to that time living in Wadsworth, the old division point, died last night at San Francisco, after undergoing an operation in a hospital. Mrs. Abbey, grown old in Nevada, was the wife of Engineer Abbey, who, for many years has been pulling passenger trains across the state. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Hackett, 111 East Fourth street, Reno, and three sons, George, Jim and Frank, the first named being a resident of Sparks. The body will arrive from the coast tonight and the funeral will probably take place in Reno. July 22, 1911 Abbay-In San Francisco, July 19, Mary, beloved wife of George A. Abbay and mother of Geo., Jr., James W., Fred Abbay and Mrs. W. J. Hackett, a native of Ireland, aged 53 years and 28 days. Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services tomorrow, Sunday, at 2 o’clock at St. Thomas Aquinas church, Rev. Father Tubman officiating. Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul Sunday morning beginning at 8 o’clock. Remains at the parlors of the Perkins-Gulling Co. Mrs. Abbay Will Be Buried Tomorrow The funeral of Mrs. G.A. Abbay, who died in San Francisco after quite a long illness, will take place at the St. Thomas Aquinas church at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. Mass will be celebrated and Rev. Father Thomas Tubman will officiate. Interment will be held in St. Thomas cemetery. Mrs. Abbay was an old resident of Wadsworth and also lived in Sparks for a number of years. She had a large acquaintance in both Sparks and Reno.
