Reno Evening Gazette August 10, 1881
Died in Poverty
Old residents will remember Harry Black, who once kept saloon where the Palace
Hotel now stands.  During his residence here he was injured by a bale of hay
that fell on him while entering the door of Hammond & Wilson’s stable, which
crippled him badly.  He died recently in California, where he had gone.  He had
no means and was a resident of the county poorhouse.  It is supposed that he
drowned himself.
