Blaisdell one of the oldest residents of the Truckee Meadows, died today at her home near Sparks. She had been resident there for over forty years. Four children survive. They are Theodore Blaisdell of northern California, Eugene Blaisdell of Sparks, Mrs. Wm Bryant of Sparks and Mrs. B.D. Burning of Petaluma, Cal. Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made. January 9, 1911 Funeral of Pioneer Woman Held Today The funeral of Mrs. Julia Blaisdell, the first white woman to settle in the Truckee valley, was today held in the lodge room of Rebekah Lodge, No. 7, of this city in the Odd Fellows’ Temple. Rev. T. L. Bellam of Sparks officiated, and the funeral was very largely attended. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery. Mrs. Blaisdell came to this valley 59 years ago and moved onto the Blaisdell ranch in Glendale near Sparks. She spent the past 59 years of her life on the ranch and died in that home on Saturday.
