Chase, and dearly loved sister of Mrs. Annie L. Conners and Frank H. Chase. The sorrowful event occurred at San Francisco, California, June 7th, of typhoid, after a short illness, despite the most assiduous nursing and the skill of two eminent physicians, Drs. McNulty and McNutt. During the brief 19 years in which she gladdened the hearts of her mother and relatives, she was an earthly angel of goodness. With tender care and loving devotion she for years nursed an invalid mother, who is left heartbroken by her great loss. In character the dear one was most lovely. She was a devout Christian, and was a teacher in her Sunday school. The funeral services were held on the 9th, the Rev. Dr. Beers, of Trinity Church, officiating. All of the young friends of the loved one, and many friends of the family were present, each with some kindly word of regret, while many reverently placed beautiful floral remembrances on the casket. At the close of the services those present gazed for the last time on the fair young face, which, thanks to the embalmer’s art, was as natural as in life. The casket was then gently borne to the hearse by pall-bearers selected from among her companions, and was placed, by kind permission of Judge Quint and wife, in their family plot at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The obsequies were in charge of N. Gray & Co., and were conducted throughout in the most kindly and sympathetic manner. To them and to the Rev. Dr. Beers, Dr. Franklin N. Clark, a noble friend in sorrow, to Judge and Mrs. Quint, to the physicians in attendance, and to many other kind friends, the bereaved family tenders its most grateful thanks.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nv/washoe/obits/chase1028gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nvfiles/ File size: 2.7 Kb
