Deward, who has been stamp clerk at the Reno postoffice for some time, died last night at a local hospital, following an operation for appendicitis. She was an obliging and popular young lady and her employment brought her into contact and friendship with many who will deplore her passing. Miss Dewar was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Dewar of Virginia City and sister of John, Will, Herbert and Nellie Dewar of that city and of Beatrice Dewar of Reno, Mrs. James Mahoney and Mrs. P.K. Buckley of Virginia City. She was 25 years of age. The remains will probably be taken to Virginia City tomorrow morning for interment. October 3, 1912 Funeral of Miss Dewar Will Be Held Tommorow A number of friends living in this city will go to Virginia City tomorrow to attend the funeral of Miss Lucille Dewar, formerly stamp clerk at the Reno postoffice who died at a local hospital several days ago, following an operation for appendicitis. The funeral will be held from the Catholic church is Virginia City tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock, the Rev. Father Murphy officiating. A mass will be celebrated preceding the funeral.
