She was penniless when taken sick, but her more prosperous sisters tenderly cared for her, and when their own means were exhausted, appealed to the charitably inclined. Her body was taken to Saunder’s undertaking rooms and from there the funeral took place this afternoon. All day long members of her class hovered over the lifeless clay, and although their hearts had been burdened for years, many a tear and sob told that there still existed that one touch of pity which makes the whole world kin.
