Foster died of thrombus in the pulmonary artery induced by malarial poison in the blood. The death was very sudden and unexpected, the child, though ailing a little, having played some during the day and was supposed to be recovering rapidly at 6 o’clock. Out of respect to Prof. Foster the reopening of the schools was deferred until next Monday January 7th. Funeral services at the Congregational Church at 11 o’clock A.M., Thursday to-morrow January 3d.
