Reno Evening Gazette January 2, 1884
A Sad Loss
At 10 o’clock last night Clara Thompson Foster aged 7 years and 3 months,
daughter of Prof. Granville F. Foster died of thrombus in the pulmonary artery
induced by malarial poison in the blood.  The death was very sudden and
unexpected, the child, though ailing a little, having played some during the day
and was supposed to be recovering rapidly at 6 o’clock.  Out of respect to Prof.
Foster the reopening of the schools was deferred until next Monday January 7th.
 Funeral services at the Congregational Church at 11 o’clock A.M., Thursday
to-morrow January 3d.
