He was out in the barn with a number of other men milking the cows, when he was taken suddenly ill and went to the house. He complained of pains in the region of the heart. The ladies at the ranch did all they could for him and advised that a physician be sent for, but the patient thought that none was needed. He rubbed some painkiller on his breast over the heart, and in a short time afterwards, upon being spoken to he did not respond and it was found that he was dead. Coroner Brown was notified. The body was brought to Reno, an inquest held and a verdict rendered that death was caused by heart disease.
