James Wesley Gilpin, formerly of Reno died Tuesday at the Sourthern 
Pacific Hospital in San Francisco.

     Funeral services for Mr. Gilpin will be held Saturday at 3 o'clock 
from the Ross-Burke company. chapel under the direction of the Masosnic 
lodge, and burial will follow in the Masonic section of Mountain View 
Cemetery.
     Mr. Gilpin retired as a locomotive engineer on February 28, 1939,
 and moved to North Sacramento four years ago.  He was a native of 
Engletown, Ind., where he was born Sept. 25, 1876.
    Mr. Gilpin was the husband of the late Audrey Daisy Gilpin.  He is 
survived by {omitted}
     He was a member of Churchill Lodge No. 26, F&AM of Fallon, 
Reno Consistory, Kerak Temple of the Shrine, and held a lifetime 
honorary membership in the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers 
Divistion 158.
