W. Boyd, aged seventy- three years, a pioneer of Bodie died Sunday night at his home in Alameda. The funeral took place this afternoon from his former home in Alameda. This was the news conveyed in a telegram received by W.B. Evans, a nephew of the deceased. Mr. Evans left Tuesday morning to attend the funeral. Mr. Boyd was a resident of Bodie from the early seventies to 1912 when he removed to Hawthorne and later to Reno. He conducted the Occidental hotel for the greater part of that time. The immediate relatives are a widow, two daughters, Mrs. Hazel B. Hunter and Mrs. Kate Salter, and two sons, John F. and N.W.
