LEADING TRIAL LAWYER OF STATE DIES AT RENO



    Lewis A. GIBBONS, leading practitioner at the Nevada Bar, and a member

of the law firm of Gibbons, French & Stoddard, died suddenly at his home,

401 Court Street, at an early hour Thursday morning.  Mr. GIBBONS had been

in ill health for a number of years, a condition aggravated in recent months

by an attack of acute appendicitis.  He became ill from influenza during the

epidemic last year and this complication of ailments is said to have

precipitated the end.

    Judge E. F. LUNAFORD of the Washoe county district court, said of him,

"Bert GIBBONS was the leading trial lawyer of the state of Nevada and a

leader of his profession in the West."
