RENO WOMAN KILLED BY STRAY BULLET



    Sunday morning Mrs. Thomas MARKS, of Reno, was instantly killed by a 

stray bullet which crashed through a window, striking her in the temple, 

resuilting in instant death.  She was seated at a sewing machine facing the 

window when the accident happened.

    The shooting was finally traced to rifle firing by a couple of men 

within the city limits.

    Albert EDWARDS of the Edwards Hardware company and Jerome GROSS, his 

brother-in-law, of White Plains, N. Y., had been testing a 30-30 rifle in 

the back yard of the EDWARDS' home, almost a half mile from the MARKS 

residence.  They admitted that they had been shooting at a bottle on a 

fence.  "Five shots in all were fired,"  they said.

    District Judge BARTLETT has ordered a grand jury drawn for the purpose 

of inuiring into the death of Mrs. MARKS.
