He was born in Alsace 59 years ago. He came to America at the age of 18, and lived some time in Philadelphia. In 1856 he was keeping a bakery and restaurant in Camptonville, Sierra county. In 1861 he came to Washoe, but went over the mountains again to Cisco. In 1868 he came to Reno and has since lived here. He was twice married and leaves eight children. He was an Odd Fellow for a great many years and was a Past Grand. He has always been in the bakery and restaurant business since he came to the country. There were very few men more respected for virtue and worth. He was a very quick and industrious man. He left a nice property, consisting of the residence and the building occupied by his bakery and the First National Bank. The funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon from Mr. Jenvey’s church. February 20, 1882 The funeral of the late Jacob Graff took place yesterday afternoon and was largely attended.
