Graves, Conductor of Southern Pacific C., Died Suddenly on His Train Death suddenly overtook Sydney H. Graves last evening. The deceased was for many years a conductor for the Southern Pacific company and it was in the discharge of his duties that he passed away. He was running on train No. 23, which was belated several hours because of a breakdown of the locomotive near Coaldale. It was late in the evening when the train reached Enzon and, after taking up the tickets, Mr. Graves sat down in the smoker Suddenly he collapsed in his seat and, apparently, died instantaneously. At Fernley the train was held while a physician was summoned, who pronounced that life was extinct. The body was brought to Reno, where arrangements were made for the holding of an inquest this morning by Judge Pollock, who is sitting for Coroner Davis, who is absent. Owing to the failure of certain witnesses to be present, the inquest was postponed. It is believed that heart failure, induced by acute indigestion, caused his death, as he complained of being ill after leaving Minn., where he partook of a meal in the diner. The deceased is survived by a wife and five children, who reside at Sparks. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Graves-At Fernley, Nev., Jan. 3, 1912, Sidney H., beloved husband of Lillian Graves and father of Sidney, Jr., and Ruth Graves; a native of Michigan, aged 53 years.
