Reno Evening Gazette July 6, 1880
Death of A. J. Hartley
A. T. Hartley, proprietor of the Arcade restaurant, died suddenly on Saturday
evening.  He had been out driving with his wife, and shortly after his return,
was standing in Fogg's meat shop, making purchases.  A fit of coughing ended in
profuse bleeding from the lungs, and death ensued in a few minutes.  Mr. Hartley
was confirmed consumptive, and his death had been for some time expected.  He
was an old resident of Reno and had many friends.  He leaves a wife, but no
children.  The funeral took place this morning from the Congregational church. 
The restaurant business will be carried on in his wife's name for the present.
