Johnson-In Reno, May 15, 1912, Henrietta M. Johnson, wife of the late Capt.
Henry Johnson; a native of Vermont; aged 77 years, 7 months and 24 days.
Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services at the Adventist
church tomorrow (Friday) at 11 o’clock a.m.  Interment Masonic cemetery.

Nevada Pioneer Woman is Gone
Mrs. Henrietta Maria Johnson Passed Away at Advanced Age of 78
Yesterday afternoon after a brief illness Mrs. Henrietta Johnson died at her
residence at 354 West Fourth street at the advanced age of 77 years.
Mrs. Johnson, like many another Nevada pioneer, came from Vermont.  In that
state she spent her early life on Grand Isle, in Lake Champlain, and through
sharing in the care of a blind father soon acquired the trait of unremitting
toil for others which marked her long life.
Thirty-two years ago, with Ephriam Holcomb, her first husband, she came to
Nevada, seeking health for him in the dry climate of the west.  Upon his death
in 1882, she was married to Captain Henry Johnson whom she survived exactly five
years, lacking two weeks.
Though Mrs. Johnson has long been in retirement because of feeble health and
advancing years her interest in her friends and their welfare was unabated until
the last.
Mrs. Johnson was a cousin of Drs. Dawson and Hogan, who wielded a large
influence upon the civic life of this community in its earlier years.  Her
passing severs another link that bound the community to the past.
