Knox, after a very severe illness, died at 5 o’clock this morning. He was born in Wadsworth on the thirteenth of February, seventeen years ago. About two years ago he came into the Gazette composing room as apprentice, and showed such an aptitude and quickness that he would undoubtedly have been a very fine printer if he had lived. He was a very bright and active young man, with extraordinary strength for his years, of a tall and graceful figure, and a pleasant and frank face. Some weeks ago Albert and some friends went to Steamboat in an open buggy. After taking a steam bath he drove home without an overcoat, and the weather had turned so cold that he got dreadfully chilled. He was taken down with typhoid fever, which became complicated by an attack of pneumonia, and later by ulceration of the bowels. He was conscious to the moment of his death, and kissed all his friends good-bye at the last moment. “Bert” leaves many sincere mourners who hope to meet him in a better place.
