B. Norcross, One of Reno's Early Residents, Dies at Oakland Mrs. C. B. Norcross died at 9 o'clock last evening at Oakland, Cal., she having gone to that city hoping that her health, which had been failing for some time, might be benefited. Her death was not unexpected, yet her children and friends hoped that the change would prolong her life at least for a short time. She died peacefully and surrounded with loving friends. Her son, Frank H. Norcross, was with her at the last, he having left for California on Sunday night. George Peckham, her oldest son, was to have taken last evening's train, but a message came telling him that she was unconscious and he could not possibly arrive in time. Frank will arrive on Wednesday morning with the remains and she will probably be buried from her late residence on that day, although the lateness of the hour last evening prevented any consultation of the relatives, so it had not been definitely decided. Mrs. Norcross was well and favorably known in this community, having come to Washoe county in its earliest days also residing in various portions of it, but latterly in Reno. She was a good neighbor and a christian woman, ever ready to lend a helping hand in suffering or distress and never hesitating to do her part in the upbuilding of the community in which she lived. She was a good mother and a true friend and she will be greatly missed by those who knew her best. She leaves three sons, George Peckham, Chas. A. and F. H. Norcross and a number of grandchildren who will sadly miss her. She has fulfilled her mission on earth and has gone to her eternal rest loved and respected by all File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nv/washoe/obits/norcross765gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nvfiles/ File size: 2.3 Kb
