Daily Nevada State Journal February 28, 1877
Mrs. Pendleton's funeral
Mr. Stiner arrived in Reno last night from Sierra Valley, from where he had
hastened upon receiving the news of his daughter Ruth's death.  He informed us
that he was then going to leave by wagon for Mason Valley to bring the remains
in.  He says that John W. Pendleton, husband of the deceased, is very low with
diphtheria. Mr. Stiner will bring the body here for burial.  He will telegraph
us from Dayton as to when the funeral will take place
