Mr. Plumb was a native of England and was aged 82 years. His widow and a nephew, Edwin Plumb, both of this city, survive him. He also leaves a brother and sister in England. Death was due to old age. Mr. Plumb resided in Reno for over a quarter of a century. He was for a number of years in the employ of the Southern Pacific company. May 30, 1912 Plumb Funeral Held on Friday Pioneer of Reno Who Died Yesterday Will be Buried in This City Friday The funeral of the late Edwin Plumb will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock from the chapel of the Perkins-Gulling company. Rev. Samuel Unsworth will officiate. The interment will be in Hillside cemetery. The deceased leaves a widow, Elizabeth Plumb, and a nephew, Edwin Plumb of this city. A brother and sister, Joseph and Mary A. Plumb, reside in England. He was married in England 62 years ago and, after coming to America, spent the greater portion of his life in Reno. He was connected with the Central Pacific railway for seventeen years in the capacity of section foreman. It was he who reconstructed the yards for the railway company after the great fire of 1879. Shortly afterwards he gave up railroad life and engaged in farming. He resided here for twenty-five years.
