D. Pollard, an old-time resident of Reno and a pioneer of the State, died in San Diego, Ca., yesterday after a lingering illness. During the early sixties the deceased kept a hotel at the head of Donner Lake, and in 1868 he went to White Pine, and remained there until 1872, when he came to Reno and shortly afterwards was proprietor of the hotel on Commercial Row known as the Pollard House. He was a native of New York, about 65 years of age, and highly respected by all who knew him.
