Death at Verdi
D. E. Prist, a native of Canada, aged 51 years, was found dead sitting by the
side of his bed in Verdi Wednesday morning.  He had been complaining for several
days of a cold, and was suffering from a fall he received a few days ago.  He
was still able to be up and walked around the night before.  Parties sleeping in
the same room with him heard Prist cough about 4 o’clock A. M., and he got up
about 12 and went out doors.  Deceased had been on the coast a long time.
