Fifteen minutes later he was dead. He spent the morning on the streets and seemed in excellent spirits due to word having been received that work was to begin upon mines on Granite Hill that he recently bonded. A few minutes before 12 he left for the home of his sister Mrs. D. Dickey, on West street near Third. He sat down to dinner, when he was suddenly taken with an attack of nausea. He hurriedly walked to his room and fell dead at the door. Heart disease was the cause of his death. By a singular coincidence, John Belz, an old time friend of his, died in a similar manner exactly a year ago. Ben was aged 42 years. He was born in Vermont, but resided in Reno nearly all his life. He was spent most of his time prospecting and, had he lived a few months longer, would doubtless have had his time and money well repaid. Mrs. Dickey is his only relative residing here.
