Sad Affliction
After a long sickness Miss Orpha Rutledge passed away Sunday night at 12:30. 
The afflicted family came to Reno last October, intending to make it their home,
but sickness has afflicted them ever since, so that they have been in very
straightened circumstances.  First the eldest daughter was taken with typhoid
fever, and had a very severe time of it.  Before she had recovered Orpha was
taken down by the same disease and has fallen a victim to the dread destroyer. 
The noble-hearted neighbors, who have been very kind, indeed, yesterday
solicited aid from our citizens to get funds to have her decently buried, and
raised enough.  Had the family not been afflicted with sickness the aid would
never have been needed.  The funeral takes place at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
