Reno Evening Gazette March 4, 1915
Josiah Sherer, Old Time Nevadan, Dead

Josiah Sherer, another old-timer of Nevada, went to his reward yesterday.  While
not one of the early settlers of the state, Mr. Sherer had been in Nevada many
years, for the last 10 or 15 in Washoe county.  He had been developing a tract
of about 200 acres in Dry Valley, about 30 miles north of Reno, for several years.

He was a native of Indiana, close to 77 years old.  He is survived by a sister,
Mrs. Hilda Spencer, and a nephew, Zua J. Harding, both of Reno.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the chapel of the Perkins-Gulling
company.  Rev. Harry Sheldon will officiate.  Interment will be in Mountain View
Cemetery.
