Dies After Operations
Mrs. Mabel Florence Smith Passed Away Last Night After Long Illness
After undergoing three operations, Mrs. Mabel Florence Smith, wife of Arthur
Smith of 636 North Center street in this city, died yesterday afternoon.  She
had an operation performed several months ago and later it was necessary to
perform two more operations and then blood poisoning set in and it is said that
it was septicernia that caused her death.
Mrs. Smith was 21 years of age and had been a resident of this city for two
years.  She leaves besides her husband, a child, a brother, Earl, and her
father, William T. Birks.  The remains are now at the parlors of Groesbeck &
O’Brien and the funeral arrangements will be announced later.
