The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock from the Episcopal church, the Rev. Samuel Unsworth officiating. In 1864 the Steinbergers were prosperous farmers in Iowa. Then came a disastrous flood and they lost all their belongings with the exception of two oxen. Obtaining a prairie schooner they used the oxen to draw the vehicle and crossed the plains in '65, settling in Susanville, Cal. After two years they moved to Milford, Cal., where Mr. Steinberger conducted a flour mill, the principal market for his output being Virginia City. In those days flour brought fabulous prices. Fourteen years later the family moved to the Willow ranch in Long valley, and after 20 years went to the Steinberger ranch near Glendale, where the family home has since been located. A daughter and a son, both living in Los Angeles, survive her. In addition she leaves 27 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nv/washoe/obits/steinber813gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nvfiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
