Stage Driver of Long Ago
Thomas Stevens, one of the pioneers of the western Nevada, died yesterday in
this city.  He was aged about seventy years.   In his middle life he was
possessed of a fair amount of this world’s goods and was engaged in the staging
business on the Placerville road.  For a number of years he resided at Carson
City.  No known relative survive.  For the past five or six years Mr. Stevens
was an invalid.
