Baby Drowned
Yesterday afternoon a child, aged 21 months, was playing on the banks of the
English Ditch up near Bragg’s lumber yard, and fell in.   It floated down until
it was seen near the Congregational Church, where it was taken out, dead.  The
father of the child is J. B. Titherington, of Lassen county, whose family has
been visiting the family of Phil Mathews, who are relatives.  The funeral takes
place to-day at 2 o’clock, in the Masonic cemetery.  Mr. Titherington has been
here about a month and has been engaged in haying for Chism.
