When found, Torre was lying face downward in a narrow shallow ditch and he may have drowned after he was stricken with a fainting spell, it was said. His body was removed to the mortuary of the Ross-Burke Company after Police Chief Kirkley and Coroner Bull visited the scene. Torre was a native of Italy but had been a resident of Reno for a number of years. He was about fifty years old and unmarried. He was for a long time connected with one of the construction crews of the Truckee River Power Company.
