Daily Nevada State Journal May 29, 1883
Sam Wagner, the veteran bootblack of the Comstock, died Sunday morning at 2
o’clock, at the County Hospital.  Deceased was 82 years of age, and a native of
Kentucky.  Sam has been on the Comstock for many years and will be missed by a
large number of his acquaintances.  His funeral took place from the Methodist
Church, yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock, and was largely attended.
