Ward took place from the family residence, on Center street, at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon and was largely attended. The funeral services were conducted by the Masonic fraternity. Mr. Ward’s death was caused by falling from the top of the Lafayette Hotel, in Winnemucca a distance of 24 feet to the sidewalk. He never spoke after the fall and lived but a few hours. Six or eight men who were at work on the building at the time of the accident testifies that deceased had been laying out wood for them, and all over the building about 7 o’clock in the morning and a little later was on the front part of the building where for some unknown cause he lost his footing and fell to the sidewalk.
