His brother in Canada was telegraphed to, and telegraphed back instructions to bury him decently. Mr. Ward had been informed by a physician in Victoria, British Columbia, that he could only live a short time, and was on his way to see his relatives in Canada once more before his death. He grew worse, and was taken off of the train here to die among strangers. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church. Rev. Mr. McKelvey preached an eloquent and impressive sermon over the remains.
