W.J. Westerfield, died yesterday afternoon. She was a woman who was widely known and every acquaintance was a friend, for she was unstinting in her charities and in the performance of her duties as a Christian. Especially was she interested in the political advancement of her husband, who was urged by her to aspire to the various honorable positions which he filled, especially those of senator and state treasurer. Mrs. Westerfield was aged 62 years. She came to Nevada 35 years ago and was married to Senator Westerfield in 1882. No children were born to them. She is survived by a brother, Lewis F. Benjamin, residing in this city, and by three brothers and a sister in Iowa. She was a consistent member of Trinity Episcopal church Funeral services were held at two o’clock this afternoon at the family residence, 101 State street. Tonight Senator Westerfield will leave with the body for the east, for it was the wish of his wife that she be buried beside her father and mother in her old home at Primrose, Iowa.
